“FILT-RITE” Propane Gas Filter/Separator

Until recently the propane industry struggled to overcome the problems associated with heavy ends—the oily, waxy substances that drop out of liquid propane when it has been heated or vaporized. The problems can be numerous and potentially destructive. These heavier hydrocarbon series of elements can, over time, lead to costly breakdowns of any one or combination of equipment components downstream of the vaporized propane, including regulators, emergency shutdown valves, control equipment, and other vital pieces.

ECUC has witnessed many installations and applications over the years where this ‘dirty,’ hot, vaporized gas has been problematic and, in some cases, caused potentially dangerous operating conditions such as vaporizer fires. 

When this heavy-end laden vapor is left to travel downstream unfiltered, vital control equipment can become clogged and stuck in the open or closed position. When the equipment needs to operate, this can result in potentially catastrophic situations including end-use appliance and equipment failures.

ECUC’s NEW "Filt-Rite" Propane Gas Filter/Separators with replaceable cartridges are designed to capture those heavy ends and mitigate impending problems by filtering out the heavier hydrocarbons as they are produced during vaporization. The filter cartridge removes up to 99.97% of waxy, oily particulates down to one micron in size, trapping them inside the filter element to produce a much cleaner propane vapor stream to power downstream equipment.
